THOM YORKE reportedly played a surprise acoustic gig at his neighbour’s garden party in Oxford, England.

News of the show spread after a Reddit user posted details on Sunday (12Jun16) after he was allegedly sent a text from his father informing him of the Radiohead frontman’s appearance.

The text read, “in Oxford at (a) garden party with Suzie’s neighbours, about to hear entertainment from neighbour Tom York of Radiohead!”. To which he responded: “WHAT”, and then corrected the spelling of the musician’s name. He also told his father: “Get his autograph or cut off some of his hair”.

The Reddit user also uploaded a photo of Yorke with a guitar at the party where he reportedly played to guests for 30 minutes, in a performance which saw him treat partygoers to renditions of his band’s songs Desert Island Disk, No Surprises, Street Spirit, Reckoner and I Might Be Wrong. It’s presumed the garden party was held to celebrate Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II’s official birthday.

The Radiohead star is apparently no stranger to popping up for an impromptu jam session; in 2014 he played a DJ set at the Leopallooza Festival in Cornwall, and again at Sydney’s Goodgod Small Club back in 2012.

Perhaps he was warming up for the band’s tour, with Radiohead next scheduled to appear in Reykjavik, Iceland on17 June, at the Secret Solstice Festival 2016.
