Miranda Lambert Writing ‘HOUSEWIFE-SCORNED’ Music

Country singer Miranda Lambert has been writing songs about the angst she felt before splitting from husband Blake Shelton.

The musicians called it quits on their four-year marriage last summer (15), and they have since moved on to new relationships – Miranda is currently dating R&B singer Anderson East and Blake is romancing pop star Gwen Stefani after falling for the No Doubt singer while they were sharing judging duties on U.S. TV talent show The Voice.

And just like Stefani, whose split from husband Gavin Rossdale gave her fresh inspiration for new songs, the 32-year-old Little Red Wagon hitmaker has been writing some deeply personal tunes with friends and Pistol Annies bandmates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley, and she is very impressed with the passionate music the trio is creating.

“That’s my heart, you know,” she tells Fox News of her songwriting approach. “It was an outlet for all three of us to really exaggerate those parts of our personalities. We call it housewife-scorned music.”

Miranda won a Grammy Award for Best Country Album for her last record Platinum, and the singer is confident fans will be delighted with her next release too, noting the songs on the record will contain the most raw and honest lyrics she’s written to date.

“I’ve spent a lot, a lot, a lot of time writing lately,” she reveals. “I’ve had more time than I’ve ever had, so I’ve been able to write every day. I think I’ve been more honest – to myself, even. Not being afraid to lay it all out there.

“As I’ve gotten older I’ve laid it out there less at times in my career but now I’m just like, ‘Here it is, here’s my story’. You can relate because everybody goes through s**t.”
