Lourdes Leon ‘POPS’ In Stella McCartney Perfume Campaign

LOURDES LEON, the daughter of popstar MADONNA, features in the campaign for STELLA MCCARTNEY’s new fragrance.

Lourdes, a performing arts student at the University of Michigan, is one of four models to appear in the promotional materials for the British designer’s new fragrance, Pop.

The 19-year-old will appear alongside actress Amandla Stenberg, singer Claire Boucher, known as Grimes, and model Kenya Kinski-Jones, who is the daughter of Quincy Jones and Nastassja Kinski.

McCartney revealed in an interview with WWD that she selected Lourdes, Madonna’s daughter from her relationship with Carlos Leon, because she is an influential young woman.

“I’ve known Lola since the day she was born, and it’s been an amazing experience to see her grow and become an inspiring young woman. This is her first campaign, her first everything, she’s popped. Lola has popped,” the designer said.

McCartney added that she chose all four models for their strength of character and influence within the social media generation.

“They’re all great young girls, and the exciting thing is if you don’t know who they are, you want to know who they are,” the 44-year-old designer said. “You will want to follow their careers and see them grow and hear what they have to say.”

Glen Luchford shot the campaign for McCartney, while the accompanying video was directed by Melina Matsoukas. The images are shot in the American desert and show the girls dancing and playing around while on a road trip.

Aimed at Millenials, Pop is a woody and floral fragrance with a mix of tuberose and sandalwood.

It will be launched later this month (March16) in the U.S. at Sephora, Stella McCartney stores and online, and will roll out worldwide to 1,500 to 2,000 stores by July.
