Florence Welch Is NEW FACE Of Gucci Jewellery And Watches

Pop star FLORENCE WELCH has been unveiled as the new face of Gucci jewellery and watches.

The Florence + the Machine star models the luxury label’s pricey pieces in a new advertising campaign, and the British singer admits she is flattered to front such a high-profile line for creative director Alessandro Michele.

“I was quite honoured,” she told Vogue.com. “I love the pieces he’s making – the bees, the flora, the Marche des Merveilles collection – it has a vintage feel.

“I’m obsessed with the gold snake ring with the star in its head and the tiger with emerald eyes,” she continued as she described her favourite jewels from the collection. “My godmother had a vintage ring with a tiger, and I was also drawn to that one.”

The Dog Days Are Over singer goes on to reveal she bonded with Alessandro over their shared love of a certain style of jewellery.

“When I first met him, we both just started talking about the Renaissance, and about memento mori (mourning) jewellery – he is a total kindred spirit!” she gushed. “Alessandro told me he made a lot of his collection listening to (Welch song) What Kind of Man.”

And the singer admits the designs in the new range are just like the stars, hearts, crosses, and snakes she doodles “in my notebooks!”

“I love the way he uses them in his work – not overly sweet but slightly dark,” the 29-year-old added. “For something to really draw me, it needs to have that slight element of darkness.”
