Emilia Clarke Relaxed Fighting Spirit For NEW MOVIE

EMILIA CLARKE is used to having to prove herself in “a man’s world”, so welcomed a break from it with her new movie.

The British actress stars in romantic drama Me Before You as Louisa, a carer who develops feelings for her wheelchair-bound patient Will (Sam Claflin).

With a female director, female writer and three ladies as producers the project is very much driven by women, which proved to be a positive experience for Emilia, who is used to testosterone-fuelled shoots like TV show Game of Thrones and film Terminator Genisys.

“I’m normally surrounded by dudes,” she explained to Britain’s Harper’s Bazaar magazine. “Doing Me Before You meant I didn’t have to be continually proving myself in a man’s world, having to try and force people to listen to me. I’ve got a really strong mum. I was brought up thinking that men and women are equal. It’s only as I’ve got older that I’ve been like: ‘Mum! What the f**k? Why are they treating me differently because I’ve got a pair of t*ts?'”

Emilia doesn’t only look out for herself though, and admits the feelings of the cast and crew always impact her. In fact the star can’t enjoy herself if others aren’t having a good time, noting: “A life lived in isolation is not a life lived.”

Luckily it was harmony while making Me Before You, with everyone involved bonding as they brought Jojo Moyes’ bestselling novel to life.

“These movies happen once in a blue moon,” Emilia smiled, likening her experience to her character Louisa’s. “Lou has this quote, ‘This has been the best six months of my entire life.’ That was true for me. Our crew had such a giggle. Everyone just got on. Thea (Sharrock, director) is an absolute dreamboat. She’s an actor’s director and, let me tell you, they are few and far between.” (
