COURTNEY STODDEN has shaved her head to start a “new chapter” following her devastating miscarriage.

The 21-year-old reality TV star suffered a miscarriage last month (Jul16) just weeks after she and actor husband Doug Hutchison announced they were to be first time parents.

Courtney has largely stayed out of the spotlight since losing the baby, but returned to Twitter on Sunday (07Aug16) with a video message to her fans explaining her desire for a fresh start.

“As you all know, I recently suffered a miscarriage and it’s had a huge impact on me emotionally,” she said in the video.

“I’ve been thinking and I’ve decided that I want to give back to my angel with a symbolic gesture and that to me is shaving my hair off, because I want to step into this new chapter in my life fresh.

“I wanted to share this with you because you’re a huge support system to me and I love all of you so much so here we go…”

Courtney signed off the video by blowing a kiss to the camera.

She then returned to her social media page a few hours later to share a snap of her new look, posing in a bikini with a leopard print scarf wrapped around her newly-shorn head.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star and her spouse revealed their tragic loss in a statement via her manager Gina Rodriguez.

“It is with a heavy heart to inform you that last week Courtney Stodden suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage,” Gina said in a statement last month (Jul16). “Courtney and her husband, Doug, are at an emotional loss for words and are using this time to grieve with their close family and friends. Please respect their privacy as the couple try to cope with losing their precious baby and seek the support they both need.”

Courtney wed The Green Mile actor Doug, 55, in 2011 when she was just 16. The couple split in 2013 but reunited the following summer and have since appeared on U.S. reality show Couples Therapy.
