CARA DELEVINGNE was allegedly detained by French authorities after a “bizarre” meltdown while boarding a Eurostar train from Paris to London.

Security staff reportedly picked out the British supermodel’s luggage for a random check at the city’s Gare du Nord station while attempting to return to the U.K. on the cross-Channel service for her sister Poppy’s birthday party earlier this month (May15).

According to editors at Britain’s The Sun newspaper, the 23-year-old beauty swore at a security officer and staged a strange praying protest.

An onlooker tells the paper the star was then held for more than an hour before emerging red-eyed from an interrogation room, apologising, and being allowed to proceed with her journey.

“It was a full-on meltdown in the middle of security,” the witness said. “There were at least 20 people around and she didn’t seem to care who saw. It was like she thought she didn’t have to abide by the same rules as everyone else just because she’s famous.

“Cara was with a friend who was trying to calm her down, but it wasn’t working. She shouted ‘let him do his f**king job, it’s ridiculous’. She got down on her knees and put her hands together as if she was praying for the whole thing to be over. It was bizarre.”

Cara, who was in Paris filming her latest movie Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets, allegedly shouted, “f**k you” at a female security officer and was prevented from boarding her 3.50pm train on 5 May (16).

After being calmed down and saying sorry to staff she was allowed to board the next train and made it back to London to celebrate her sister’s 30th with celebrities including Kate Moss, Sadie Frost and Stella McCartney at London’s Chiltern Firehouse venue.

A French security source tells The Sun that the incident is not the first time French officials have had problems with stars demanding V.I.P. treatment when travelling on the Eurostar.

“Famous people often (don’t) seem to think the same rules apply to them as everyone else,” the source vented. “But everyone is subject to the same security procedures regardless of how well known they are. Sometimes celebrities will behave as if they are above the law and will be rude for no reason. They need to learn they have to be treated the same as everyone else.”
