Kim Kardashian’s stepfather hit headlines in April (15) after she went public with her transition from male to female, and now editors at the top gay publication are honouring Jenner with the prestigious title on their Out 100 list.

“I always thought that I want to wake up in the morning excited about the day, excited that I have things to do, things to accomplish, things to learn,” Jenner says in an interview with the publication. “I want to be excited about life always. For the longest time, I was not. I isolated myself from the world. I never felt like I fit in anywhere.

“Today that’s all changed. I’m so terribly excited about the future. I have so many things to do. I feel like I have a place in life.”

Among the other 100 most compelling lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people featured on the list are actresses Lily Tomlin, Cynthia Nixon and Raven-Symone, filmmakers Lee Daniels and Roland Emmerich, and musicians Jess Glynne and Carrie Brownstein.
